On Your Project

A PLS will personally conduct the work on your project

At Bell Land Surveying, your boundary survey or topographic survey will be conducted by a licensed Professional Land Surveyor (PLS). You won't be handed off to an unlicensed party chief, junior associate or land surveyor-in-training. That's an important distinction - high quality land surveying often requires analytical decision making in real time in the field.

You can rest easy knowing that you've received the highest level of professional judgment on your land surveying project - both in the field and in the office.

We're a small family-owned business. Bell Land Surveying is a certified Small Business Enterprise (SBE). As hands-on owners, we know the nitty-gritty details of clients' ALTA surveys, easements and encroachments. You'll be impressed at the level of detail we can recall from surveys conducted decades ago. We'll talk with you at each phase of your land survey and return your phone calls and emails promptly. You'll be kept well informed of the current status of your project.

Professional qualifications

Douglas Bell, PLS, is licensed to practice land surveying in four western states California, Washington, Oregon & Arizona. You can rest assured knowing that four professional licensing boards with high professional standards declared Mr. Bell qualified to practice in their respective states.

Douglas Bell is also a CFedS, a Certified Federal Land Surveyor, as certified by the Bureau of Land Management. The CFedS certification program was developed by the BLM to enhance professional knowledge of the public land survey system, and to elevate the level of expertise for those conducting work on public lands.

Mr. Bell was the 285th land surveyor in the United States to be awarded this distinctive recognition. Fewer than 100 California Professional Land Surveyors gained certification in the first six years of the program. CFedS certification is rigorous, and is a good gauge of the land surveyor’s ongoing commitment to excellence.


Educational training

Doug is a graduate of the Land Surveying Technology program at Red River College, Winnipeg, Canada and the GPS Certificate program at UC Riverside. You will profit from the diligent work of a skilled land surveyor who is educated in advanced subjects such as geodesy, photogrammetry, complex survey data analysis, and the Public Land Survey System (PLSS). Your project will be in the hands of a well trained professional.


We're up to date

The land surveying profession is continually evolving. While there is no state license mandate to do so in California, Mr. Bell regularly attends professional development seminars and educational conferences. You'll benefit by working with a practitioner who embraces lifelong learning and is current with the latest regulations, techniques and best practices.

Douglas Bell, PLS, is a Professional Land Surveyor licensed in four western states, and is a CFedS, a BLM Certified Federal Land Surveyor. He provides a range of property line, ALTA, boundary survey, topographic mapping, easement determination, encroachment investigation, and utility location services.
